Workshop Vacuum Valve & Hose Adapter System
A modular vacuum valve system I designed and built for my workshop dust extraction setup.
The system is designed to control and distribute airflow between different extraction points, while keeping the setup compact, simple and easy to modify.
What’s included
Vacuum valve – to open or close the extraction line
T-junction – to split the vacuum line into two branches
Hose adapters – for connecting hoses and components with different diameters
The components can be used together as a complete system or individually, depending on your workshop setup.
Hardware Required
To assemble the valve, you will need:
4× M5 × 20 mm screws
4× M5 nuts
No other hardware is required for the basic valve assembly.
Hose adapters
The included adapters are designed around a ~42 mm vacuum hose and a 32 mm connection.
Please note that hose and vacuum fitting dimensions can vary depending on the manufacturer. If the included adapters don’t fit your setup perfectly, they can easily be redesigned and adjusted to match your specific hose dimensions.
The adapters are intentionally kept simple so that the diameter and tolerances can be modified easily.
Printing
The parts are designed to be printed without any special requirements.
For the best fit, you may need to adjust the tolerances depending on your printer, filament and the dimensions of your hose.
Why I made it
I needed a simple way to manage the vacuum system in my workshop and connect different hoses and extraction points without relying on expensive or hard-to-find fittings.
So, as usual, I designed and printed my own solution.
The system can also be easily modified and expanded depending on the needs of your workshop.
