test 3d print model. My notes below:

  • low profile,

  • mx spaced, best for choc v1 or choc v2 switches,

  • with a subtle keywell curve on alpha keys and angled thumbkeys.

  • the 3d case:

    • the keywell switch plate itself modeled with cosmos pro generator

    • then rest of the case modeled in fusion360

  • additional modules:

    • Placement for Ec11 encoder knob on top left,

    • Placement for a 128x32 oled screen on top right

    • *Didn't make a rigid way to chuck the modules and the microcontroller/s in the case, so i just hotglued all of them on.

  • bottom plate

    • 3d file included, but i used a 2mm clear acrylic version in the pics.

    • it mounts to the top plate via M2 sized standoffs and m2 screws.  Used the tip of a hot soldering iron to push and slide the standoffs right into the holes.

This is meant to be fully handwired. Not sure if you can make this hotswap compatible since i never tried test fitting 1u sized hotswap pcbs underneath, or you might have to modify the 3d file to somehow accomodate those 3d printable hotswap socket holders.

The case design shape is Dygma sonsei inspired mainly.

i diy cut some clear black acrylic myself for the oled cover screen. Top switch "plate" was airbrush painted in black color.

**last note, the middle of the case kinda flexes if you really on purpose press down hard in the middle (since there's nothing supporting that area underneath it). Not too bad after i added all of the wires (24awg) and junk underneath, so i don't feel the flex in daily typing. If its bothersome you could put something inside the middle like foam or something
