Minecraft NFC Jukebox
A working Minecraft jukebox! Insert a music disc and it actually plays — each disc has an NFC tag inside, read by an RC522 reader. An ESP32 matches the tag to a track on the microSD card and plays it through a DFPlayer Mini and a small speaker. Pull the disc out and the music stops. When a track finishes playing, a 360° servo runs a short spin sequence (spin 0.25 s → wait 5 s → spin back).
Software setup
Install the Arduino IDE from arduino.cc.
Go to File → Preferences and paste this into "Additional board manager URLs": https://raw.githubusercontent.com/espressif/arduino-esp32/gh-pages/package_esp32_index.json
Open Tools → Board → Boards Manager, search for esp32 and install esp32 by Espressif Systems.
Open Tools → Manage Libraries and install: MFRC522 (GithubCommunity), DFRobotDFPlayerMini (DFRobot) and ESP32Servo (Kevin Harrington).
Connect the ESP32 with a USB-C data cable, select ESP32 Dev Module as board and pick the COM port that appears. No port? Install the CH340 driver.
Preparing the SD card
Format the microSD as FAT32, create a folder named mp3 and put your own MP3 files in it named 0001.mp3, 0002.mp3, etc. The file number is the track number.
Linking your discs (important!)
Every NFC tag has a unique ID, so you must scan your own tags first:
Upload the tag_checker sketch and open the Serial Monitor (115200 baud).
Hold each tag against the reader. For every tag, a ready-made line appears, like {"04731ADA3F0289", 1}, — write the number on the tag so you don't mix them up.
Copy all lines into the discs[] list at the top of the main jukebox sketch, replacing the example lines. The number after each ID is the track it will play.
Upload the main sketch. Done — every disc now plays its own song.
Wiring diagram and BOM are included. Servo direction and timing can be changed at the top of the sketch (swap the 180 and 0 to reverse direction).
