LAN BOY - A Custom Modular 10 inch Server Rack

Welcome to my LAN BOY project

This rack is my own custom take on the classic 10inch racks which are going in popularity due to their size and cuteness. 

Reason for LAN BOY? 
I wanted to used a TP-Link ER706W Omada router which was too wide to fit into my standard 10 inch rack at the time and I was honestly I was not happy with the design of that rack either so I wanted to change that and design something that not only looked great but also gave me a little more room without sacrificing going to a 19inch rack setup which honesty would be waste of space for my home rack.

Design
The whole rack can be printed in pieces on a standard 256x256mm 3D Printer bed uses M8 brass heat inserts and hardware for all the rails, sides and panels. The files include all the individual parts as well as full STEP files for full builds which you can break down to individual parts to print or modify as needed.


You're not locked into one fixed height either, simple print the extenders and build upwards, modify the Rail step files if you want a custom height. Expand it out to 10U or whatever suits your gear.

Two 90mm fans are mounted top-side for active airflow through the equipment bay, keeping switches and routers running cool during extended use.

Recommended material: ABS (or another durable, temperature-resistant filament) — this thing lives near active electronics and gets handled, so a tougher material is worth it over standard PLA.

DXF Files have been included so you may laser cut or make your own side panels.

Print either just a 10inch rack or the optional 11inch design.
