This chunky little jar takes the classic cotton reel shape and turns it into a genuinely useful storage pot. The ribbed sides mimic wound thread, the flat cap has that familiar centre hole, and underneath it all is a proper snap lid that keeps your bits and pieces secure. It is a great pick for anyone who wants a bit of character on their desk, whether you are a sewing enthusiast, a stationery hoarder, or just someone who likes their storage to look a bit more interesting than a plain tub.
This print works brilliantly on a single colour printer, no need for a colour swap mid print, the ribbed texture reads well even in one shade. It is print in place with no supports required, so it comes off the plate, simply put the spool on the thread. Fill it with paperclips, binder clips, pins, or craft odds and ends, it is roomy enough at 85mm tall to earn a permanent spot on your desk. A lovely one for beginners since there is genuinely nothing to put together.
Filament Colour & Material
PLA is the easy choice here, it is beginner friendly and holds the ribbed detail nicely. For a classic look go with a warm oat or cream, it leans into that vintage cotton reel feel. For something bolder, a single block colour like teal or forest green makes for a fun, modern statement piece.
