You might think of any tool as a kind of prosthetic.  Some prosthetics build our innate capabilities (like training wheels, which are intended to be discarded).  Others create dependency, as our innate skills atrophy from disuse (automobiles waste our muscles).  Generative AI can be a remarkable creative tool, or an infantilizing crutch.  Print yourself a SLOP magnet as an annoying little reminder to avoid the path of least resistance.

The design is based on the Standard US Stop Sign from the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD): https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/htm/2003r1/part2/fig2b-01_longdesc.htm

I've included a parametric fusion file if you want to change the overall thickness, remove the back layer, or otherwise adjust the print.  The current 1mm thickness is pretty stiff; a thinner model might work better as a magnet on a curved surface.

We print these on the Prusa XL with the detail art facing down, which generates a smooth surface.  Print facing up if you want to show off the filament traces.  PLA tends to work better in terms of avoiding blobs and stringing, but PETG is more durable in outdoor applications as PLA tends to warp in direct sunlight.

We turn these into fridge magnets with "Adhesive Magnetic Sheets for Letter Size 8.5x11" from Amazon.  We used to cut the magnets to cover the entire back of the badge, which is tedious and generates lots of useless scrap.  It seems to work just as well to slice the magnet into 1/4" strips that we layer around the badge border.
