Display Stand - The Nein-Tide Deck

This is a custom ship‑deck display stand designed to showcase painted miniatures in a nautical fantasy environment. The model features tiered decking, cannons, railings, a mast, and curling tentacles rising from the sea, creating a dramatic stage perfect for the Mighty Nein or any adventuring party.

The design began as AI‑generated concept art, which I used to explore shapes, composition, and overall atmosphere. I then converted the artwork into a 3D mesh using Meshy.ai, followed by manual cleanup and optimisation. The final STL is fully original and created specifically for this project.

The model is optimised for clean FDM printing, with:

• stepped deck geometry to avoid unsupported ledges

• self‑supporting angles on railings, stairs, and mast elements

• tentacles sculpted with print‑friendly slopes

• no hidden cavities or problematic overhangs

Supports are required, and depending on your slicer settings, the model can generate a large number of supports. Some may be difficult to remove, so it’s worth taking time to optimise your support placement for easier cleanup.

It prints reliably with tree supports and is suitable for most consumer printers.

Print details (my setup):

• Printer: Bambu X1 Carbon

• Filament: ZIRO Walnut Wood PLA (real wood fibre)

• Layer height: 0.2 mm

• Supports: Tree supports

• Total print time: 20 hours 01 minute

The real‑wood PLA gives the deck a warm, natural walnut finish straight off the printer, enhancing the ship‑deck aesthetic and making it an ideal display base for fantasy RPG or wargaming miniatures.
