This was created for the Logitech MX competition and for an bit of an excuse to practice making designing off of a step file and playing with forms in Fusion. (they're weird)

These are made to be pretty easy to print and will raise the keyboard up 5mm. I recommend making at least two but you can print a 3rd for resting your hands while using the arrow keys or 10key. You can slide this along the keyboard to get your perfect typing distance. Note: The physical print is variant made for my keyboard since I don't have a Logitech MX on hand.

I've made a handful of variants for people to choose from:

  • The first with a 10x3mm magnet to keep the rest in place after you've placed it at the angle you want. I used a small amount of glue to keep them in the prints. I'm pretty surprised how well this worked out. They're not too strong to make it a pain to re-orient.

  • Option two is the peg variant. Just slide the wrest down on the peg to keep in in place. Handy if you don't have any magnets on hand.

  • I've also included three different length base legs so you can dial in how far you want the rests to come out from the keyboard. The standard are 85mm. Then 95 and 105mm lengths.

The base is printed in PLA with basic 0.2 layer height. No need to get fancy here.

The rests you can print out of whatever you like! I printed mine in TPU air and they're surprisingly comfortable. If you have some on hand I recommend it. Should would well in standard TPU as well. I even printed out a test piece in PLA and it felt pretty comfortable as well.

  • 0.2 layer height

  • 3 walls for a little more stiffness

  • 15% gyroid infill

  • I used the default 75A Siraya Tech profile for my Centauri Carbon with good results.

I've included the step files for anyone to redesign as they see fit. Couple ideas I had were to make different   that curved away from the center of the keyboard. As well as rests that have a deeper curve to help those that have problems with keeping wrists in place.  Have fun and happy typing!

Similar magnets to what I had on hand:
