The plastic thing holding the pin in place can break or just straight up dissolve in battery acid if you had a leak.
This thingy right here is a working replacement. It's not perfect, but it works just fine and it's not like you're gonna be looking at it anyway, right?

There's gonna be plenty of force applied to the little hooks, you don't want them to split along the layer lines.
As for the replacement process itself, I found it the easiest to desolder the positive pin from the power board, slide the spring out, put the plastic and the pin inside, slide the spring back in and solder it back to the power board.
You can also try replacing it without desoldering the pin. Should be doable, but I didn't really wanna find out.
