Custom drybox for up to 5 filament spools for Prusa MMU. The drybox is made from the OrionBox available in the Czech Republic.
Accessories (thermo-Hygrometer, filament label holders, silica-gel baskets) are designed to be attached to the hexagonial holes in the walls. Or in case of label holder to hexagonial bar between walls.
All parts can be printed without supports.
Solution was created in OpenScad.
Other components:
Orion Box 30L (available in Czech republic)
20x 608 2RS CN bearings
5x PC4-M6 Pneumatic Connector for PTFE Tube
Digital Thermo-Hygrometer FY-11
Sealing for windows to air-proof the box
The idea to use walls for bufferless solution was inspired by
and the box sealing clips are modified from
to fit OrionBox.
Assemble:
Parts are for the 3 inner walls holding individual spools of filament. You can print Left and Right Wall together on one plate (in case of MK4S). Originally, I printed walls 3 mm thick, which are strong, do not bend and are not so finicky with Blockers. However, I changed the model to the 2mm thickness, which significantly saved material consumption. Inserting a blocker is now sometimes annoying, but one has to do this only exceptionally and the savings seemed to me to be a sufficient benefit.
6x WallRight
6x WallLeft
6x Leg
3x Coupler
Lay the WallRight and WallLeft next to each other and connect them with Coupler.
Insert 2 bearings on the pin in the WallLeft and close it with WallRight.
Now close entire wall with free WallLeft. Do not forget to insert 2 bearings on the pin first. Then enclose entire wall.
Slide the leg parts onto the pins at the bottom of the walls. That will secure the entire structure. The separator on the upper leg must be inserted between the bearings and separate them. This should be easy if you move the bearings sideways first.
Parts for 2 end walls
2x EndWallRight
2x EndWallLeft
2x EndCapping
2x EndLegA
2x EndLegB
Assembly is very similar to inner walls. EndCapping enclose wall and works as coupler. Lay the EndWallRight and EndWallLeft next to each other. Insert 1 bearing on the pin in the EndWallLeft and 1 bearing on the pin in the EndCapping. Insert EndCapping's coupler on both walls.
Slide the EndLeg parts onto the pins at the bottom of the walls.
Accessories:
These parts are nice to have.
1x ThermoHygrometerHolder - holder for Digital Thermo-Hygrometer FY-11. The part should be wide just enough to set the walls to the width of the Prusa filament. Insert it into the hexagonal holes in the walls. It can be placed anywhere and thanks to the hexagon, you have the freedom of rotation in 60 degree steps.
2x SilicaBasket - holders for silicagel. You can use more baskets, but i consider 2 enough.
5x LabelClip - clips for filament labels cut out of a cardboard filament box. They are slided on Blockers attached between walls. That way you can easily took label out and replace.
5x Blocker
I have tested number bars holding walls together and ensure that filament get stuck on wall corner. I call them "blockers" and you can see some of it in the photos. However, I have never had a problem and they are not necessary.
