The top cover for the INDX is well designed and works perfectly.  However, the smooth, sloped sides provide little to hold onto when opening the top.  This handle solves the problem and attaches using the same 2 screw holes used for securing the grill and grill-flexis.

This handle requires 2mm longer screws (M3x10mm rather than the stock M3x8mm).  Also note that the handle is not symmetrical because the screw holes in the cover are offset to the left; there is an arrow on the back of the handle to indicate which direction should be up.

Design Features:

  • No supports required

  • Arrow on the back (pointing up) to assist with proper orientation

Parts Required:

  • 2 - M3x10mm screws.

Printing Notes:

  • Print using a 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height, structural.

  • Almost any material should be suitable.  I used Matte Black PETG.

  • Please DO NOT use the .bgcode file that has been provided (always slice your own files for your specific printer, filament, environment, etc.).  The file was only included to provide a reference for approximate print time.

Assembly Instructions:

  • It is best to work on one screw at a time unless you have help to hold the grill in place.

Step 1:  Start by removing the existing M3x8mm screw.  Hold the grill and grill-flexi in place to prevent dropping the grill-flexi or damaging the grill.

Step 2:  Orient the handle with the arrow on the back of the handle pointing up.  While still holding the grill and grill-flexi in place, attach one end of the handle using a M3x10mm screw.  Thread the screw most of the way in (it will be fully tightened in Step 3).

Step 3:  Use the same process to remove the other M3x8mm screw and attached the other end of the handle.  Tighten both screws until they are snug and the handle doesn’t move (do not over-tighten or it may damage the grill-flexi).
