Overview
This is a comprehensive bottom-mounted electronics organization and enclosure system designed specifically for the Duender 3D printer (by Sergei Irbis).
Note on Geometry: This setup is configured assuming the bed extrusion sits at 105mm from the front extrusion—slightly further forward than the original stock Duender layout, providing what I found to be an optimized and cleaner internal clearance.
The system is split into 3 main modular components:
Main Electronics Case
Rear Power Supply (PSU) Mount
Power Wiring / Terminal Cover Box
Component Breakdown
1. Main Electronics Case
Capacity: Tailored to comfortably house a BigTreeTech SKR 3 (or equivalent-sized mainboard), a Raspberry Pi, and a dedicated 5V 10A step-down power converter (AliExpress Link). (It is spacious enough to fit a BTT Octopus, though you would need to adjust the mounting points and connector routing slightly).
Cooling: The top lid features an integrated mount for a 120mm fan, which blows air directly across the mainboard for high-efficiency, ultra-silent cooling compared to noisy small fans.
Dust Protection: Includes provisions inside the fan/vent structure to glue or heat-fuse a dust filter mesh (AliExpress Link).
2. Rear PSU Mount
Compatibility: Designed to fit standard Mean Well LRS-350-24 (Ender 3 Pro stock 350W power supply units).
Frame Fit: Fully compatible with the double-bed mount setup. Note: It is NOT compatible with the triple-motor bed mount layout, as it occupies the space where the third motor would sit.
3. Power Wiring Box
Encloses the high-voltage mains AC screw terminals on the PSU for safety.
Integrates a standard Ender-style power inlet socket, positioning the plug neatly right under the frame.
Features dedicated space to mount an SSR (Solid State Relay) directly to the printer frame (for heat dissipation) and plenty of internal clearance to route and zip-tie your AC/DC wiring safely.
