Introduction
This pick holder is one of my first designs completely done in FreeCAD. My goal was to design it in a way that it securely attaches to most straps and can hold most types of guitar picks.
The design is parametric, so that you can adjust the dimensions to the width and thickness of your strap.
Choose your holder
I included several .3mf versions of the holder, in case that you have no possibility to change the parameters for yourself.
The file name indicates which version fits your strap. The length (e.g. 50mm) gives you the width of the strap. The standard version is intended for thicker (stiffer) straps while the versions with _thin in the name are intended for thinner straps.
How to Print
The model is very easy to print. No supports are necessary.
If you change the FreeCAD file and export it to your slicer, make sure to separate the holder and the clamp on the print bed. Otherwise they will fuse together, since there is no clearance in the design.
I printed the model you can see in the pictures on a Prusa MK3S+ in PLA with a layer height of 0.2mm.
Parametrize
I have included the STEP file as well as my FreeCAD design file. Feel free to modify the holder as you please.
If you want to adapt the model to your specific strap. Just follow these steps:
Download the pick_holder.fcstd file.
Open the file in FreeCAD.
In Model panel, click on strap_param.
Change the variables in the data panel
