A pump action, slamfire, blaster that shoots vortex disks.

-Building notes

The catch requires tricky elastic and part placement to assemble. The catch has to be lubed on the part where it touches the wall or the trigger pull will suck. The elastic is best put in by pushing it in the back and having it turn around the catch area and then pushing it into the front hole where the elastic can be tied off.

The standoff in the SHITTLE part need loctite so it does not fall out.

The 2 screws securing the middle of the uchannel need loctite to not have them fall out and interfere priming.

The pin on the bottom that holds the arm needs to go in a specific direction so on the other end can screw a 4-40 screw to secure it. If using a 10-32 bolt instead use a nut in the other hole on the bottom.

There is a screw in the middle of the magwell. This screw is for easy mag drops on official nerf mags, similar to the prongs on real vortex blasters.

I can confirm that this works well with 10 round nerf mags and the printed mags by mirage. I cant confirm the 20 rounder or 40 round drum as I dont have them, but I think they work (there is a part called drum stop and I think its for the drum mag).

Make sure the pulleys move freely as they do move around quite a bit when priming.

The CHEST part requires support enforcers. There is a picture to where to put the support on.

The PRONG should ideally be made of metal, but if you do print it, I would recommend printing it in something super rigid and with a ton of walls. Mine still flexes in 8 walls 50 infill of PC so your results may vary.

The PUSHY STICK BUT BOTTOM and PUSHY STICK TOP PART, need to be screwed together with 2 screws.

The CATCHING DEM HANDS is best printed with a smooth plate

THE PUSHY STICK BUT BOTTOM and TRIGGER need supports.

The PLATE and REVERSE THIS SHIT RIGHT AROUND need high walls as they need to be more solid.

Parts are not oriented in the correct direction. There are 2 pictures that show the correct orientations.

There are 2 folders named BLAK and GREN for color reference.

There are picture to help assemble some difficult areas.

Several caliburn related accessories fit on this blaster.

My blaster has the 1/8 elastic intentionally longer so I can de-tension the elastic when not in use. The n strike lug is a decent spot to clip the elastic to.

Performance on this blaster is less than my praxis, but is also way less picky about the disks it fires.

Offbrand ammo seems to not work the best with this blaster as their OD and central ID are not consistent. Some seem to be small enough to get past the disk stop.

Genuine nerf vortex disks have different stickiness on the foam depending on what type they are. The new VTX disks seem to be more sticky compared to the older vortex disks. I noted that my genuine vortex mags have the disks get stuck with the VTX ammo. None of my old disks seem to have this issue.

-The not so special hardware required

2 UChannel Flak/pirhana/indra sized. This could be printed instead if your printer is big enough.

2 tc v3 priming bars. This is printable as well.

At least 10 hex standoffs. Get more incase of stripping.

2 caliburn trigger standoffs

3/32 elastic for catch and trigger return.

1/8 elastic for main power

1 extension spring

3 long takedown pins. One of these pins could be substituted with a 10-32 1.75 inch screw for the arm, but the pin is smoother.

2 10-32 1.75 inch screws and its nuts for the grip attachment.

Too many 4-40 3/8 screws

-Improvements that could be made, but I dont wanna work on dis anymore plz

The Prong bends too much when printed, it could be wider or taller to make it not bend anymore, but this require a significant rework of the front half to make this possible. Metal prongs might be the best cost to effort wise on this blaster.

The trigger is not the best, but it works. I know it could be better, but I dont have enough blasters to cross refer from to figure out a solution.

There is no roller to add spin on the disks. This causes the range to vary with each shot. Expect a few to spin off.

There is not a good stock option for this. The n strike lug is kinda loose on mine, but I dont have many n strike stocks to test this part well. The length of pull is too long for most stocks though, so the stock that would be good is most likely to be a really short one.  There is an alternative magwell that has the channel stops removed, so the u channels can be longer to make a stock. I did not model a stock for it however.
