BrushPause - Paintbrush & Small Spatula Rest | Two Support Rails

BrushPause is an open, one-piece rest for short pauses during model making and painting. Two matching rails support each lane. Put the working end over the large front recess, with the handle pointing through the open rear.

Features

- Two V-shaped lanes for round handles, with 16 mm openings and 6.5 mm-deep notches.

- One flat-bottom lane for small flat tools, with an 18 mm opening and 3.5 mm-deep notches.

- Two support rails spaced 31 mm centre to centre. The front rail is 2.5 mm higher than the rear rail.

- Three open rear handle exits.

- One solid body with a flat underside; no assembly.

Nominal dimensions

146 x 76 x 15 mm. Floor and perimeter wall: 2.4 mm. Low rim: 7 mm. Rail tops: 15 mm and 12.5 mm above the underside. The front recess has no raised lettering.

How to use

Place the rest on a flat surface. Use the same lane on both rails. Point the working end toward the large front recess and let the handle extend through its matching rear opening. Check clearance and balance with your own tool before leaving it. Handles are supported, not clamped. The intended working end points upward over the recess; actual position depends on the tool shape.

Printing

Print the flat underside on the bed. Suggested starting point: PLA, 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layer height, 3 perimeters and 15% infill. Use a suitable profile for your own printer and material and inspect the sliced preview. The geometry is designed without supports. No printer-specific G-code is supplied.

Verification status

The exported STL and geometry-only 3MF were checked for a closed, consistently oriented single body, dimensions, floor, support profiles and open rear exits. Offline slicing was reviewed using an isolated generic PLA profile. Physical printing and use with real tools have not yet been tested. Tool balance, drip retention, cleaning performance and compatibility with paints, cleaners or solvents remain untested. The rear is open: this is a temporary tool rest, not a container for mixing or storing liquids.

STL, geometry-only 3MF in millimetres, original parametric Python source, bilingual instructions and licence. The images are CAD renders/projections of the actual exported STL. The brush in the use diagram is schematic, illustrative and not included; it is not a photograph of a tested print. Colours are illustrative.
