Universal Coral Board Case
A clean, low-profile enclosure designed for the Synaptics CoralBoard™ SL. The case uses M3 threaded inserts and M3 screws for a solid, tool-friendly assembly. Multiple base plates let you adapt the same case to different mounting needs. Easiest way to print is load 3MF files, which are already correctly oriented and print the version you need.
Outer size: 78.2 × 63.2 × 16.7 mm.
Features
Low-profile case with full access to ports
Three base plate options:
Standard base
Camera / tripod mount (1/4"-20)
VESA 50×50 mm
Optional covers for GPIO, Camera/mikroBUS, and battery connector
Camera case version with a mount for a Raspberry Pi camera
ALL IO easily accessible, including connectors, buttons and LEDs for easy debugging
Multi-color lettering option (“With Coral intelligence”) for the lid
Designed for M3×4–6 mm heat-set inserts + M3×6–12 mm screws
Customize the design
The full parametric model is available on Onshape. You can open it, adjust dimensions, cutouts, or create your own variants:

4× M3 screw, 6–12 mm
1× ¼″-20 threaded insert (tripod base only) – Prusa shop
4× M4 heat-set insert, M4 × 4–6 mm (VESA base only) – Prusa shop
4× M4 screws to attach the VESA base to your monitor or arm (length depends on your mount)
Camera case only: 4× M2 screw, 6–8 mm + 4× M2 nut
Camera case only: Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 (or v2, same 25 × 24 mm board and hole pattern)
Camera case only: camera cable 22-pin 0.5 mm (board side) to 15-pin 1 mm (camera side), the kind sold for Raspberry Pi 5 / Zero
Files included
The letters at the start of each file name match the designators in the assembly drawing (see “Drawing explanations” below). For example, a_b_case_clean_with_letters is part A (case) plus part B (letters) on drawing sheet 1. The best-quality drawings are in the included PDF, Drawing_Universal_Coral_Board_case.pdf.
File | Drawing Parts | What it is |
a_case_clean_no_letters | A | Closed case, plain top |
a_b_case_clean_with_letters | A + B | Closed case with multi-colour letters |
e_base_plate | E | Standard base plate |
g_base_plate_camera_mount | G | Tripod base (takes insert H, ¼″-20) |
i_base_plate_50x50mm_vesa | I | VESA 50 × 50 base (takes inserts J, M4) |
k_l_m_n_case_snap_in_no_letters | K + L + M + N | Case with IO openings and the GPIO, camera/mikroBUS and battery covers |
k_l_m_n_o_case_snap_in_with_letters | K + L + M + N + O | The same, with multi-colour letters |
v_case_camera_WITH_letters v_case_camera_NO_letters | V | Case with a mount for a Raspberry Pi camera |
3MF: all_files_case_orientation_no_letters | all printed parts | Every part, already oriented for printing, no letters |
3MF: a_b_case_orientation_with_letters | A + B | Closed case with letters, ready to print |
3MF: v_case_camera_with_letters | V | Closed case with letters, ready to print |
3MF: k_l_m_n_o_case_with_front_inserts_orientation_with_letters | K + L + M + N + O | Snap-in case and covers with letters, ready to print |
Designators that never appear in a file name (C, D, F, H, J, P, Q, S, T, U, W) are the inserts, screws and the board itself. You buy those; you don't print them.
STEP files are split per part, so the covers K, L and M are separate STEP files and n_o_case_snap_in_with_letters.step contains only the case and its letters.
Assembly
Install the four M3 heat-set inserts into the case.
Move or remove the clear rubber feet under the board (see below).
Place the CoralBoard on the base plate.
Screw the case to the base plate from below.
Optional: press in the covers for GPIO, camera/mikroBUS or battery as needed.
Before assembly: the board's rubber feet
The CoralBoard SL ships with four clear rubber feet stuck to its underside. They are only there so the bare board can stand on a desk; inside the case they aren't needed.
The base plate has recesses for the feet. To keep the base plate printable without supports, two of the recesses (circled in red) don't line up with where the feet sit from the factory. Before you put the board in, peel those two feet off and either stick them back over the recesses or leave them off. Removing all four feet is fine too.

Print settings
Note: the easiest way to print is to open one of the 3MF files in PrusaSlicer and print the parts you need. They are already oriented.
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Perimeters: 2+
Infill: 10–15 %
Material: PLA or PETG
Supports: none needed (optional)
Orientation: case top face down (letters on the build plate), base plates flat, camera base standing
Multi-colour letters
The letters are a separate body inlaid in the top surface, one layer deep. With an MMU, AMS or toolchanger, assign the letters a second filament. On a single-nozzle printer, use the NO letters lid, or use your slicer's single-extruder multi-material mode with manual filament swaps on the first layer.

Drawing explanations
Overview of case + base plate options
Shows the main case, the three base plate variants (standard, camera/tripod, and VESA 50×50), and the hardware (M3 inserts + screws). This is the primary assembly overview.

A – Case clean – print top face down (letters on the build plate)
B – Letters for multi-colour print – optional
C – M3 threaded inserts – M3 × 4–6 mm – 4×
D – Synaptics CoralBoard™ SL

Camera case
Case V adds a mount for a Raspberry Pi camera, so the board and camera form one unit. Combine it with the tripod base plate (G) to use it as a smart camera on any tripod. The camera is fixed with 4× M2 screws and nuts, and the ribbon cable goes into the case through the opening under the mount.
Assemble the board in case V the same way as the other cases (inserts, base plate, M3 screws).
Connect the camera cable to the board's CSI connector before closing the case.
Screw the camera to the mount with the M2 screws and nuts, then plug in the cable.
The CoralBoard SL has a 22-pin 0.5 mm camera connector, while Raspberry Pi cameras use 15-pin 1 mm. You need a 22-to-15-pin cable like the ones sold for the Raspberry Pi 5 or Zero.

T – M2 nuts – 4×
U – Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3
V – Case with camera mount – print top face down
W – M2 screws – M2 × 6–8 mm, 4×
Case views and dimensions
78.2 × 63.2 mm footprint; Ø4 × 6 mm holes for the M3 inserts.
The views show that all connectors, IO, buttons and LEDs remain fully accessible, so the board keeps complete functionality while inside the case.

Base plates
Plain, camera stand (¼″-20) and VESA 50 × 50 (M4 inserts in Ø5.7 holes). All use 4× Ø3.2 through-holes with Ø6 × 3 mm counterbores for the M3 screw heads.
