Maximize the capacity of inexpensive standard PMAGs for match day. This basepad and follower kit extends a standard 17-round Glock PMAG to 23+1 while remaining within USPSA Carry Optics dimensional limits. It reuses the factory spring to keep costs low and relies on a single screw for a secure lockup.
Hardware Required
1x PMAG 17 (spring and tube reused)
1x M4x6 or M4x8 screw
Print Settings
Designed for PETG. Increase your wall loops/perimeters until the entire model renders as completely solid to withstand drops during reloads.
Basepad: Can be printed without supports, but tree supports are highly recommended for the cleanest internal geometry.
Follower: Use normal/standard supports. Do not use tree supports for this component.
Assembly & Installation
To ensure the extension stays firmly locked in place during stages, the magazine body needs a small modification where the retention screw sits. Slide the basepad onto the tube, thread the M4 screw in just enough to mark the plastic, and remove the basepad. Drill a small cavity in the magazine body at that exact mark. When reinstalled, the screw will seat perfectly into the dimple for a secure mechanical lock.
Compatibility
Note: This kit is designed STRICTLY for the Magpul PMAG 17 GL9. It will not work with OEM Glock magazines, ETS magazines, or other aftermarket brands due to different tube geometries and spring dimensions.
Print Orientation
Check the listing photos for the correct build plate orientation for both the basepad and the follower. Replicating this exact placement is critical to ensure the layers run in the strongest direction and won't shear off during a fast reload.
Match Notes
This extension is designed to fit within the 141.25mm USPSA gauge requirement for Carry Optics and Limited Optics. As always, test your magazines in a gauge before a major match.
