I designed this small filament spool magnet. It can be printed in mulitple colors withour an MMU. The design is made for 6mm magnets however if you want to you can change the dimensions, I left a simplified fusion360 file in “files”.
Magnet:
The magnet used is a 6mm magnet. The height of the magnet doesn't really matter and can be anywhere from 1mm heigh to around 3-4mm. the filament spool will just stand further from the fridge/magnetic surface.
Printing and assembly instructions:
I recommend printing this at a low layer height. Around 0.15mm is what I used. (You can also use my gcode) No supports are needed.
After all the parts are finished printing you will need some glue to put all the parts together.
I used superglue:
- Put some glue on the base where the roll will touch. Put the roll on and let it dry.
- Add glue to the top part where the roll will contact it. Put it on the shaft and make sure the shaft fits in the hole in the middle. Make sure the orientation of the 3 shafts match with those on the other side.
- Last but not least attach the magnet. Make sure to use enough super glue and let it dry.
