Alternative back plate for the german fully 3D printble WordClock project: Wordclock Wortuhr
The software for this project can be found here: WordClock
NOTE: Compatible with the V1 version STL files. The newer ones can be found here: Click
This back plate has some additional features compared to the included one:
- The 4 “foot” parts lift the case from the wall and therefore create a gap for the power cable
- The 2 optional “L”-formed “angle” parts can be used to place the WordClock on a desk and prevent that the case falls off the desk or tips over. The angle also gives a better view to the display
- The bigger hole for the power cable can be used to put a micro USB cable directly to the ESP8266 without the need of an additional power port on the outside of the case which would make the micro USB plug more visible as well
- The text on the back notifies the user to use a 5V/3A power supply for this project
- The 4 small holes above the big cable hole allow to fix the power cable with 2 small cable ties
- The brim around the inner side of the backplate lockes the WordClock front better to close the case more on the back to give a better view
- The screw holes are more stable to allow to open and close the back more often
- More easy electronics and cable management inside of the case because of more space inside
- No extra visible „holder“ part is needed
