I wanted to create a container to hold desiccant for my Prusament (filament) when in storage in the as shipped bag and box.
There is not much room left, so I decided to use the hole in the spool.

Intended for 3-5mm dia desiccant - "Blue Indicating Silica Gel" - https://www.silicagel.com.au/1-kg-blue-silica-gel-beads-self-indicating/

This container is designed to be an easy fit in the spool core hole. There are slots all around to provide air contact. I also designed in a core tube into the container to allow more air contact on to the desiccant, this also serves to hold the thread to secure the lid.

With this extra hole (12 mm dia) the container could be mounted with the spool.

No photos of the printed one yet, as I am printing a batch set with will take about 20 hours.

If you'd like to see a smaller version I have already uploaded that - here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3620171

If you'd like the Fusion 360 file I am happy to share it on request.

I have also uploaded a funnel to filling these easier. See here https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/38738-funnel_desiccant-container-filament-spool

Print instructions

I have now uploaded the lid an body as separate STL files, as the separating was causing some confusion.
If using the STL, split the two parts and print separately. Invert the lid to print with the flat (top) side down. The no Supports are required, or either part. Recommend use bridge detection. No post processing required
