Designed to fit a standard 2.5" HDD/SSD and a StarTech.com USB3S2SAT3CB SATA to USB 3.0 adapter. The design uses a spring and a small ridge near the USB adapter to hold the HDD and keep the USB adapter plug secure to the HDD. Install the HDD together with the USB adapter by compressing the spring with the end of the HDD and them allowing it to drop under the ridge near the adapter connector. Removal is the reverse. Be sure to hold the adapter firmly and straight to the HDD during installation/removal.
