Designed an angled base for my Klein Journeyman hex sets. Uses the holes at the bottom of the stand to support the keys at a 30 degree angle. Print with the base down, no supports needed.
Files are for the 8-piece metric and 10-piece SAE sets. The SAE set was too large for my print bed (MK3S+) so I spit in half and used puzzle piece style tab/blank to assemble. Both the split files and the solid base are included. 3mf files have a modifier over the pins to print with 100% infill, did that for some extra support.
The lip/ledge in front could easily be modified with a logo or the wrench sizes if you wanted.
The F3D files are fully parametrized so you can easily size up/down to meet your specific stand's needs. Modify the dimensions and render model will automatically adjust properly.
- Modify the “Baseplate” sketch with overall length of the stand
- Modify the “pin bases” sketch with the offsets from edge. This measurement is from edge to center of the narrow part of the slot. There is some wiggle room built in, you can confirm by measuring distances on the rendered model and comparing with your stand.
