2024 revision: 16 port version now has cable strain relief

I published a revised version of the 16 port model with cable strain relief features (and a few other small improvements)

-------

A simple keystone 'patch panel' for my home lab. I needed a patch panel for a few HDMI connections as I was tired of opening up the rear of my rack every time I needed to connect a different host up to my monitor.

The model is tailored to my specific rack, but should be easily adoptable to any other dimensions. Import the Fusion360 model and then edit the first sketch in the timeline as needed and adjust the pattern on line step to adjust the number of keystone jacks.

As is, the model has:

  • 178.5mm from 'edge' to 'edge' between the two screw holes
  • 6.5mm diameter for the holes as my rack uses M6 screws.

If those dimensions do not work for you, you can just glue the print down as needed.

Note: After printing the model you see in the pictures below, I added a small cutout which should make it easier to depress the clip on the 'male' end of a keystone device from the 'user facing' side as you'd typically find on a proper patch panel

PrusaPrinters does not support uploading Fusion360 files, so grab that from thingiverse

Additional details on my site, here: https://karlquinsland.com/2020/07/home-lab-mini-universal-patch-panel/

EDIT: I ran out of room on the v1 which has 8 ports total. I adjusted the model and created a 2x8 port version. The STL, 3mf and STEP files are included for V2.

Print instructions

Any material and at least 10% infill should be fine.

No supports if you use the suggested print orientation shown in picture below.

Tolerances on the jacks are somewhat tight so printing at a more accurate setting is probably going to be a good idea.
