Turn ugly cheap PC speakers into somenthing more fancy.
Fitting for 2.5 inch speaker elements.
Housing and frontplate are designed so that no supports are needed when printing.
Needed materials:
- 8 pcs M4 x 10mm socket head cap screws
- 8 pcs M4 nuts
- Soldering iron
- 4 mm drillbit
- Super Glue or equivalent
Steps for assembly:
- Open the original speaker housings and unscrew the speaker elements
- De-solder the wires from the speakers, take note of polarity (what color wire goes into ‘+’ and ‘-’ terminals
- Clean the screw holes of the new frontplates with a 4 mm drillbit
- Mount the speaker elements into the new housing
- Thread the wires trough into the new housing and make a not on the inside
- Solder the wires back into the correct terminals
- Put a litle of Super Glue around the bezel, and place the frontplates on the housing
- You can secure the frontplates with tape strips until the glue has cured
