Suzuki Shifter / Gear Knob Replacement

Gear knob replacement for manual Suzuki. This was designed for an Alto but will probably fit other models too.

**Edit: I have now added a numbers ‘cap’ which clips over the top of the original shifter as a way to display the shift sequence**

I would recommend printing in ASA, or at least ABS. You may be able to get away with PETG too depending where you reside, but my recommendation is ASA.  

The file exists as one part, which can be printed in multiple parts (using the Cut function in PrusaSlicer) to assist with maximum bed adhesion. I personally printed it in two pieces, as shown in the screenshot below. You may also like to experiment using the Cut function in the X-Z plane, as others have found this assists with part strength (i.e you cut the model vertically and print both halves on their side).  

My ASA settings are below, these are a guide and what worked for me.

Number of walls: ≥4

Infill: ≥30%

Layer height: 0.15mm

Speed: ≤50mm/s

Brim: 4mm

Model modifications. I have also included the .step which is a little easier to modify if you wish. This design makes the knob sit up a little higher than the original, which some may not like, if you wish to change that, then make the extrude where the shaft goes a little deeper.

Finally, some countries / jursidictions require that you display the numbers / sequence of your manual gearbox. Please refer to the specific guidelines where you live and make sure you adhere.
