This replaces the metal gantry assembly and solves the issue with the x-rods slipping and x-axis racking to an extent. Its designed to use the stock printer parts and provide a bit more access during assembly and cleaning. I've also enclosed the belt latch I'm using.
I've been running this for about a year and am happy with exception to lack of integrated tensioning and a loss of about 10mm on the Y-axis. I don't know I will develop this design further and have included the Inventor files if someone decides to.
