I got tired of my ribbon cable dragging across my bed and prints so I made a cable clamp and top fixture to suspend it. I just added a piece of shock-cord with beads both ends as toggles. The clamp is a tight fit and needs supports on the overhangs ( I just painted them on). I would suggest petg or similar so you've got a little flex when you're putting it together. For the top fixture - just take a screw out of the spool holder than slip the fixture under it.
