The lid of the BOSNÄS ottoman from IKEA is prone to slipping off, especially when a cat decides to jump on and off. The plastic ‘guides’ on the bottom of the lid are very short and don't make a tight fit.
This part slips over the existing guides, enlarging them by 2mm per side and lengthening them by ~15mm. This makes the lid stay on very well, almost well enough to lift an empty ottoman by the lid.
I've not had any problem with the extensions slipping off, but you could always glue them in place if you wanted to.
