Rubber band powered gun for launching a glider. Minimalistic model for a small consumption of material. Easy to print and assembly. I printed it on MINI+ with 0,4mm nozzle and PLA.
Print info
Body, Cover and Trigger need to be printed with 100% infill.
Barrel can be printed with 15% gyroid infill.
Bolt needs to be printed with 100% infill. Recommend to use 3mm collar.
Plane can be printed with 15% gyroid infill, but use modificatory to set 100% infill for cockpit (because the weight on the front of the plane is needed).
Wing needs to be printed with 100% infill.
Material: PLA
Nozzle: 0,4mm
Layer: 0,2mm
Supports: NO
Print time: 4h 23m
Weight: 45g
Assembly
Simply put a trigger inside the body on the place and use cover to close it. There is small tolerance on clips, so recommend using pliers to push every clip carefully inside. Then push inside the barrel part and lock it with bolt. You will need one smaller rubber band for trigger returning and one stronger for plane launching. Stronger one must be cut and both ends of it need to be tied to front of a barrel.
Now just put the plane inside the guide rail, put the rubber band on the end of the plane and stretch the plane until trigger will fix it in place. Aim your plane and pull the trigger. Enjoy.
