Fly It Like You STOL it

I've always liked model airplane and have been following Trent Palmer's youtube videos on STOL flying.  This is a bit more complex and not flat compared to some of the other models. but I did it so that is stays together better and the you get the iconic spirit of the Cub landing gear.  Not faithful to any model, it's a chimera of Piper Cub, Carbon Cub, Kitfox, and Highlander.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Satin sheet with PETG works well.  Textured sheet makes bottom layer look odd on plane.

It will print at 100% on a mini, but all the parts at once get a bit close to the edge and I had failures.  Designed to print at 0.2 layer level.

My favorite way to print is to scale to 80% in Prusaslicer and set the layer heights to 0.16 to compensate for smaller size.

Gear ‘triangle’ has a single layer filler to facilitate a ‘bridge’.

Had a lot of success putting a single or two layer ‘imprint’ in the underside of the wing. and then putting embossed text on the top and using the filament switch to print in a different color.

Print tires and propeller separately in black.

Print wing (with text on top switching to black) along with the port and starboard fuselage sides together so that the engine is black also.

Full cabin width made wing look odd if limited to a mini.

7/7/23: Added a standard model type like models used to come as.  Prints on a Mini if you use a 75% scaling and use .15 layer height.

Will fit at 100% and .2 layers on a Mk3s
