PLEASE READ CHANGELOG BEFORE PRINTING
There are 2 “darkgreen” files depending on the measurements of your bridge mounting holes.
The Amazon Minicaster
I wanted to print the Prusacaster, but my printer was slightly too small to print the full sized version in a high quality and I live in the US, so the original kit Prusa recomended would cost too much to ship here. So I remixed the Minicaster to fit the amazon kit that others have modeled around as well as make a few other modifications.
FYI all amazon links are affiliate links.
Changes from the Minicaster
- Fits the Amazon guitar kit
- Added extra M3 bolt hole for the green honeycomb piece to bolt to the core
- Added holes to mount guitar strap mounts (included in kit)
What you will need
- Guitar Kit
- M6x45 Bolts
- Strings (optional but recomended, the kit comes with low quality strings)
- Assorted M3 Bolts (optional, the glue can hold the guitar together but if you want extra security, use these. I did not use them)
Printing
Use the rendered color picture as a guide of what you're printing. The files are all named by the color that matches it in that picture (and in the .f3z archive). The one exception to this is the pickguard, which is just named minicaster-pickguard.stl.
I printed all parts at 0.28mm layer height, 15% infill, and 3 walls except minicaster-brown.stl and minicaster-darkgreen.stl. I printed those at 25% infill and 7 walls. As far as speed, this will vary from printer to printer, but here's my advise. Print slow. Really slow. This is a large model that I assume you want to look good. The slower you print, the better it will look. Personally, I printed at 50mm/s and exterior walls at 25mm/s and increased speed up to 130% on some parts. For reference my printer can print a nice looking benchy at 175mm/s. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Printing all the parts took just over 100 hours. I included a screenshot of how long it took me to print each part, but that was printing at very conservative speeds. You could likely speed up the prints by at least 20% and get the same quality.
Shoutouts
Finally, huge shoutouts to Mikolas Zuza and Tomek. They did a lot of the heavy lifting here and I'm just iterating to fit my needs.

After talking and exchanging measurements, we determined that the center point of the outermost holes of my mounting plate were 60mm, while theirs were 61.25mm. Please measure yours and choose the correct one. Below is an picture of user This That's measurement (Photo 1).

If anybody who actually knows about guitars makes this and knows how I could make it better, please leave a comment. I’d love to improve the design in any way possible.
