This is a minimal enclosure for the WT32-SC01 ESP32 Dev Board, that incorporates a USB-C charge controller, Li-ion battery, and power switch.
The case was designed around the V3.2 dev board, which has standoffs on the corners. They are only used for positioning the board inside the case.
Enclosure Features:
- Reset button on the back using a living hinge
- Screen supports to hold the screen in position near the front of the case
- Folding stand that covers the power switch to prevent accidental activation
- Provision for USB-C charge controller
- Provision for Li-ion Battery
- Provision for Push-on/Push-off power switch
This can be used with the WT32-SC01 on its own with no switch/charger/battery if you like, you can add the other bits later as desired. You'll need to solder the leads for the battery and charge controller and solder some wires from the charge controller to the power input pads on the WT32-SC01. Check the manual for the WT32-SC01 for pad orientation (+/-) and make sure you wire it correctly to the charge controller. If you get it backwards you'll blow the EMI capacitor… Apparently…
The case will need to be flexed slightly to get the PCB past the screen supports, but then the screen will "snap" into place. The glass will sit on the inner support and the outer features willjust hold the screen in position. The result is a nice solid feel when touching the screen to activate buttons as the screen itself is supported.
Printed at 0.1mm layer thickness but anything up to 0.2mm layer thickness should work fine. I painted on supports for the USB ports and the hinge holes on the case, and supports for the hinge pins on the stand, and all came out great. I have printed the case without supports and found the holes are small enough that they will bridge with PETG.
