If these parts are missing or are damaged, I tried to design my own and 3D print them.
Singer spare part no. #44879-482 Tension Spring Cup is composed of two parts:
- 0-9 dial file, where corresponding number label 0123456789.lbx need to be placed. When printed, remove all support material first with a scalpel. The lable need two circular cut to get a washer shape with dial numbers. The placement is according the provided pictures. Printed on a lable material of 24mm width.
- Spring cup. After printing, remove all support material by help of a scalpel. Place the lable: Dial Plus_minus.lbx around outside perimeter. Look at the provided pictures for correct placement. Printed on a lable material of 6mm width.
As you can se, result is quite good, but you need some kind lable printer to get whole assembly nice looking. Of course, the lable files are included and are in format .lbx, suitable for some Brother label printers, compatible with P-touch editor.
This design, I guess, will be of low interest. I designed it for my need and decided to share with you who may need it as well. Information how to assemble/disassemble Singer thread tensioner, could be found on Andy Tube on Youtube… Singer model 237 has the same tensioner. Some of Singer 4-series sewing machines have these details made of metal, like 401G..
