The plastic cam that locates the throttle cable on some R1200 motorcycles can crack and eventually fall off, this model is a replacement cam option. There are two throttle bodies on the R1200 hence a left and a right hand side cam, they should be fitted in pairs to avoid any throttle sync issues.
Each cam is printed as two halves, a top and a bottom that are then screwed together. By making them in two parts there is no need to drill any locating pins into the throttle lever nor do you need to disassemble the throttle bodies. As per the photo's just slide the bottom piece under the metal throttle lever and align the holes with the notches in the lever, then press the top piece on using the alignment pins and screws. There are two 6mm M3 bolts and one 4G screw per cam. The 2 x M3 nuts are embedded into the bottom pieces of each cam, this is achieved by adding a pause at the start of the 3mm layer when slicing the stl's. When the printer pauses you can place the nuts in their voids and then resume the print.
UPDATE: Some M3 nuts are larger than the ones I used originally so I've added two new "bottom" files with larger pockets for them (named V5 Larger Pockets). They are mated with the original V4 Top files. I also added a new version (top and bottom files) using Voron style M3x5Dx4L Heat Set Inserts.
I used carbon fibre infused nylon (PA-CF) filament to ensure that heat wouldn't affect the cams.
Caution: Installation of these cams is involved as it requires removing and reinstalling the throttle bodies, and the associated resynching of them.
Filament: PA-CF recommended
Layer Height: 0.2mm (add a pause at the start of the 3mm layer to place the M3 nuts)
Infill: I guessed and used 60% for a strong print
Supports: used for the bottom pieces only
Hardware:
Option 1. 4 x 6mm M3 countersunk socket cap or phillips head screws , 4 x M3 hex nuts, 2 x 4Gx6mm countersunk screws (I used all stainless steel hardware and even put some thread lock on the screws)
Option 2. 6 x 6mm M3 countersunk cap or phillips head screws, 6 x M3x5x4 Voron style heat set inserts (5mm diam, 4mm length
