Inspired from a real maple seed that blew on my patio one evening. Exactly the same size as the original seed.
I tried different versions of the wing thickness and the more layers it got, the less it would spin requiring more height to drop the seed to get it to spin. At the current settings, the model is still on the heavy side when compared to the original nature seed. If you printed with lightweight PLA, then this might help get closer in weight to the original, increasing spin time.
I designed the “wing” part to be printed at ONE 0.12mm layer height thick in PLA. I have included the Gcode for the print shown in the cover photos printed on my Ender 3 Pro with a 0.4mm nozzle.
Be gentle when you are removing the seed off your print bed, will be very lightweight. Spins well when you have at least 8 feet of air drop to get the prop to start spinning.
