I was given a cup phone mount several years ago that I really enjoyed. However as my kids have gotten older, I find myself needing the second cup holder so I had to get rid of it. Fortunately there is coin holder on the dash I never use…so I took the challenge on to regain my cup holder and make something fit in the coin holder.
The base fits snugly into the coin holder with very little play. A little double sided tape will mount it semi-permanently. The base needs some supports for the edges, and I just printed it right side up.
The actual phone holder will need a nylon nut (which probably could be printed, but for sake of time, I just went to Lowes and bought one - item #139003 with a wingnut to tighten.) The size of the holes are 5mm if you want to print a bolt and nut to fasten. I've been tinkering with it,…….but am still learning the in's and outs.
The phone holder was designed for and iphone or any phone 75.7mm wide, no limit on height as the holder can be adjusted to pitch forward or back. It slants toward the driver side. Each print takes 2-3 hours to complete. I'm still pretty new to this, but I have enjoyed being able to figure things out.
