A super light (around of activation force 10g) switch for use with Assistive Technology. Utilizes the really sturdy Omron A22NZ-S-G1A contact block for reliability, sturdiness and solder free installation. This normally has an activation force of 150g, but with this it's only 10g of force.
Can be compared to the AbleNet Micro Light Switch in functionality
BOM:
1x A22NZ-S-G1A contact block. You only need the contact block, no guards or other faces needed.
1x Audio cable of your choice. Most of the machines I've seen use a 2-pole 3.5mm jack, but a 3-pole will work just fine. I have attached mine by the GND and L channel.
1x Of this print (duh…)
Assembly:
Wire up the contact block. I wired up L and GND since I have 3-pole cable, but a 2-pole or 4-pole will work fine. It will be a tight squeeze, so keep the cables tidy and lead up the switch and not on the sides.
Use a small screwdriver to “punch out” the premade support holding up the pipe on base.
Place the switch down into the case, making sure to guide the cables underneath the pipe and out of the case through on of the holes.
Attach the lever to the pipe on the base. If you printed this in PLA, it might snap, so I recommend PETG.
Attach the lid, again this works best in PETG
Printing Instructions
I used PETG, but you can use PLA, it just won't be as smooth.
0.2mm layer lines
0.4mm nozzle
15% infill (cubic subdivision)
Supports on the lever only
No brim
“Detect thin walls” on the base only, so that the premade support gets made
Printed wonderfully on my BL X1CC
It works great for me, and I hope it will work just as great for all of you who live day to day with this kind of assistance.
Please let me know if you want some more files or if there are any errors with the print or spelling errors.
