Patch Buttons

Careless garbage disposal company broke the front of our heavy duty trash can and would not replace it.  Patch Buttons prints provided me a method of mending the broken flat surfaces of the plastic trash container.

On flat broken areas, I drilled on hole on either side of the brake, positioned the Patch Button (one on the inside and outside of the container), and then tightened the screws.

Patch Buttons, placed on several areas of the broken parts, securely repaired the trash can for extended life where my attempts at gluing the brakes had previously failed.  I used several Patch Buttons on my repair to mend the breaks in key areas to recover the strength needed for continued use of the trash container.

I designed Patch Buttons so that, when installed, there are no sharp corners that would cause damage to trash bags/contents when pulled out of the repaired container.

For my use, I designed Patch Buttons to accommodate an M3 hex nut on one side, and an M3 cap socket screw on the other.  The length of the screw can vary depending on the width of the panel being mended (my project used available 16mm M3 socket head cap screws)

No - they're not pretty… but it's a trash container!  AND my Patch Button repair allowed me extend the life and use of the container, while preventing unnecessary landfill waste, and a rather costly replacement!
