Geeetech MeCreator 2 3D printer Top HAT

The Top HAT is a custom-designed cover specifically created to fully enclose the Geeetech MeCreator 2 3D printer, allowing for optimal printing conditions when using ABS and other exotic materials. The cover is intended to be printed using ABS, although PETG can be used as an alternative. The purpose of the Top HAT is to enhance the printer's performance by maintaining a controlled environment within the enclosure, ensuring consistent temperature and reducing the chances of warping or print failures.

The Top HAT consists of multiple panels made from clear Plexiglas, which allows for easy monitoring of the printing process. The dimensions for the Plexiglas panels are as follows:

The side panels are rectangular, measuring 118mm x 284mm each, while the front and back panels are isosceles trapezoids with dimensions 2x 113mm (base) and 232mm (short side), and 294mm (long side). The top panel is a rectangle measuring 205mm x 284mm. The enclosure is easily assembled using magnetic strips, ensuring a secure fit to the printer's metal frame.

To attach the Top HAT to the 3D printer, magnetic strips are used. These magnetic strips can be easily found by searching for "magnets for fridge" or "magnetic strips." The magnetic strips should be 11mm wide and are recommended to be around 300mm in length (2 pieces) and 280mm in length (2 pieces) to accommodate the Top HAT's dimensions. These strips come with double-sided tape, which can be used to adhere the magnets to the cover. When attached to the metal frame of the printer, the magnetic strips act as both a sealant and a dampening mechanism.

1. ABS Filament or PETG Filament (depending on preference)
2. Clear Plexiglas Panels:
   • Top Panel: 205mm x 284mm
   • Side Panels (2x): 118mm x 284mm

3. Magnetic Strips:
