I originally made this to clear a specific stage in the rhythm game Rotaeno. After seeing someone clear it by literally rubber banding their phone to a steering wheel controller, I figured I might as well print a steering wheel with a phone mount so others could clear it.
With the exception of the main TableClamp, all parts with threads were printed upright with no support. Settings used to print the parts are 0.15mm layer height. The threads are based ISO metric threads, so the overhang angle is 30°. For me, some of the threads had some stringing but was mostly usable. You may need to adjust based on your printer's capabilities, possibly reduce layer height further. The TableClamp was printed lying on its side with snig supports.
The clamping mechanism for the PhoneClamp uses rubber bands. If possible, use the same type and number of bands for both sides to get an even force distribution.
Honestly wanted to refine the design further, but my filament and printer has been having issues. Barely printed this in time for the contest. If you guys have any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment, I plan on making a v2 to make it more usable.
