Designed this to hold my touch interface on my openbuilds cnc router, but it could be used for anything that's roughly that size needing to me magnetically coupled to a piece of 20 x 40 extrusion. Magnetically couples at a 60 degree angle from the extrusion.
You will need the following extra parts along with the printed part:
4 x M5 button head screws 10mm long Amazon
4 x M5 tee nuts Amazon
4 x Magnets 10mm x 3mm Amazon
This will print on any FDM printer, but will need supports.
I printed this on my Prusa SL1S, and used PrusaSlicer to Hallow the central “tube” to reduce shear forces during printing.
The second, smaller piece, is part of the model. Place the flat side down to the build plate and cut/slice the model at 4.2mm height (see photo).
Once printed, simply glue/expoxy the magnets in place. NOTE: Verify magnet polarity before making them permanent.
Attach the small piece to the interface, or whatever you are mounting, by either gluing or adhesive.
