Parametric Roller Blinds Converter From Arm to Chain / Repair Kit

I created this model to remove the arm from a Ikea FRIDANS roller blind but the model may also be used to replace broken parts of common roller blinds.

The mechanism is working quite well, if you are having issues please write a comment or check the tips section below.

You will need your own beaded chain like this one.

Print Instructions

Easiest way is to use the provided .3mf file with organic supports.

Filament

PETG (recommended)

I recommend printing in PETG with multiple perimeters to increase the strength of the part (~5).  I would also use the model with a tolerance of 0.4 mm, otherwise the fit may be too tight.

PLA

It is also possible to print with PLA and the model works well, but it will probably not be as durable as PETG. 
In my experience, the model should be good for printing with a tolerance of 0.2 mm, but you can always adjust it with Fusion360 and the included files.

Supports

Use organic supports as shown in the image.

If you want to adjust the model to your own needs you can use the provided .f3d file.

Click Modify → Change Parameter to adjust the parameter. 

You'll probably only need to update the ones marked as favorites. Please see the overview below.

Assembly

Please assemble as shown below.

Tips

• apply some lubricant like vaseline to the shaft to decrease friction
• if you are having issues with the shaft breaking you might want to try to use the Slider with Screw as Shaft.
