Nice little double pendulum/chaos pendulum fidget spinner. Redrawn from scratch in Fusion 360, based on EG3Dprinting's Double Pendulum Fidget Spinner.

Fit is intentionally quite tight to reduce the need of glue, (adjustable) pliers or vise may be needed for assembly, especially for the small bearing axle (my small bearings had a bit of uneven fit, so they needed a bit more material). Caps need supports, but both the arms can easily be printed without, since the large arm is split in two. Designed with 0.4mm nozzle and 0.20mm layer height in mind, but other combinations may work equally well. Material choice is up to you; PLA works fine, I printed mine in PETG for improved durability.

Needed hardware (ceramic or fully cleaned steel bearings recommended):

  • 1x 608 bearing
  • 1x 624 bearing
  • 1x M6 nut

Changes from EG3Dprinting's original:

  • Use an M6 nut instead of an extra 624 bearing as counterweight in the small arm.
  • New, diveted caps for a more relaxed grip (using friction fit instead of threads to fix in the 608 bearing).
  • Chamfers instead of fillets on large arm for cleaner printing.
  • Chamfers on small arm for nicer edges.
  • Edges in large arm to keep the 608 bearing centered.
  • Ribs on the back of both arms for improved grip when setting the thing in motion.

(Update 2023-08-20: Minor changes to make all sketches fully constrained.)
