Was Inspired by LilMikey's work on the Tronxy to create a bed system leveled independently using Magnets and M4 balls. Eventually ended up mixing bits of Simplecore, the Voron Trident, and the original rail mounting method for the 260's cantilever bed.
I did this mod on the 260 and can give a parts list but everything else comes down to user preference, it can be mounted however you see fit. I had to extend my X axis by 50mm to make room for the idlers.
Parts Used in addition to BOM (WILL BE DIFFERENT FOR OTHER BUGBU STYLES THIS IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE 260)
1 MGN12H 350mm rail
1 350MM 2020 Extrusion
2 400mm 8mm linear rod
4 400 mm 2020 extrusions
Manta M8P (Or Similar, was already using a cb1 and without all the extra drivers this wont be possible, this needs 6 drivers)
enough tmc2209s for everything
a total of 3 top ties and 3 bottoms ties from the original BugBu 260 files to mount the extrusions your rails will be mounted to.
2 additional Z motors
Mod Specific
3 M4 steel balls
3 M4 X 20 screws (for mounting balls to the rail mounts)
3 15mm countersunk magnets
10m G2T 10mm belt (Should work with smaller belts but I didn't try it)
3 x 10mm Idlers (Or whatever is appropriate)
3 x 10mm Pulleys (Or whatever is appropriate)
enough M5 screws and T nuts (The idler and motor mounts may only work with socket heads? I messed up my first go around and made the holes too small and had to mount with socket heads so I don't know if my depressions are big enough for button head screws. Idlers were mounted with M5 X 35 screws. Top idlers secure to the extrusion with M5 x 8 and motor mounts with M5 x 12)
TPU feet (Just glue them on you'll need the extra height so that the motors clear the bottom of the bu, I included some but please share if you come up with something better!)
New spacers (So your probe and fan ducts don't go crashing into the new idlers)
Bed Platform (BugBu 260 specific)
2 x 300 mm 2020 extrusions
2 x 250 mm 2020 extrusions
For the bed platform make sure you take measurements first FOR YOUR OWN MACHINE. I had to pull back 2mms and not mount the 250s flush because the total length across ended up being ~292 mm on my machine. Bed platform can be built however you see fit, drilling and tapping blind joints would probably work best or you can be lazy like me and use some old hypercube rigid corners to build your rectangle.
Just rigid mount the bed to the two horizontal 250mm extrusions the way Rolls17 mentions it in the BOM!
Update klipper and enjoy. Only thing to remember is that the bed is NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINTER AND THE DRIVE IS NOT ON A GEAR DRIVE TO REDUCE HOW FAST THE BED FALLS. I found this out the hard way when my vyper bed went to space camp.
Overall super quick and dirty put together but it works, If you come up with something better please share!
