Ikea Upphetta is a good and cheap coffee press, but the knob isn't very solid - made of thin plastic. Mine broke only after a few weeks.

There are already a few of those models here, but when mine broke, I designed something a little different, instead of making a simple copy of the original.
The round design has essential qualities :
- It will keep your hands free of harm while making your favorite coffee, even with a shaky hand while making the 8th daily coffee.
- It is more comfortable to use.
- It is more solid and very durable.
- The round design offers a modern look to your modern kitchen
- Last but not least, it will definitely make a way better and sustainable coffee than before.
Practically, in my case, the original plastic part around the rod of the coffee pot did not break (see picture). All that needs to be done is to use a small file and remove any overhanging parts - the replacement part just fits over it, preferably with a drop of superglue inside.
