Creality Fan Cooling Kit Duct

I added a Creality Cooling Kit to my Ender 3 S1. It’s a nice addition but…I feel it cools the bed more than the part. I whipped up this simple snap-on duct to create a “curtain” of cooling at the top layers.

The duct is designed so that the Cooling Kit is kept at an angle (much like you would normally do). The duct will run very close to the part when printing (depending on model/angle). By keeping the Cooling Kit somewhat loose, I can re-angle the Cooling Kit when needed and aim the duct’s air flow over the top layers and adjust the fan speed. I keep the bottom of the duct level with the bed when not in use.

I like the Creality Cooling Kit, and it has helped me increase my speed on some prints, but honestly, with a better part cooling fan, I don’t have to use it much.

There are two versions, each with a little different clearance from the bed/part - 3mm or 5mm above the bed (approximately). I would suggest using either the V4_3mm or V5_3mm version as a start. The V5 models have a little kick back on the vent tip to allow for a bit more air flow toward the bed. My preference is V5_3mm. 

I had success printing it as shown. This runs very close to the bed initially and may sag if printed in PLA. I highly suggest PETG, 0.20 layer height or smaller, no infill.

There are probably better ways to do this, and I’m sure the design could be better…but for now, for me, it seems to work well. It's been a nice little project/experiment. Please feel free to let me know what works/doesn't work - comments/suggestions are welcome.

These new versions have extended width and better fit to eliminate leakage. 

V5 has a slight kick back at the vents to allow more air flow toward the bed.
