This is a big fully 3D printed axial bearing:
The model consist of 3 files:
- Retainer: holds the rollers and housing in place, print one of this
- Housing: upper and lower housing are identical, so print two of this file
- Roller: tapered roller, print 24 rollers
Assembly should be pretty obvious once all parts are printed. The two housing halves are lightly snap-fit into the retainer which also holds all the rollers in position. Everything can be easily separated again if needed, be a bit careful when picking it up. The diameter is just under 180 mm.
The version I printed in PLA is very noisy but works well and can support quite a heavy load.
This model is in the Kitchen category as it was originally made to fit a 31 cm stainless cake plate found on Amazon, makes a turntable for decorating cakes. The bearing is fully generic though and can be used for any purpose that needs this size.
