This is a cover for the metal stud that holds the armrests for Branch ergonomic chairs for when you don't want the armrests attached. The studs stick out far enough that it's easy to hit unintentionally. It just slips on and then is held in place by the same lever that normally holds the armrest.
When printing, print two copies of the model, one normal and one mirrored.
