My own organizer/storage solution for OpenLOCK terrain tiles. Each cell can hold eight base tiles or five walls. The bin for the clips should hold around sixty.
Update:
Over many sessions using these (and many additions to my collection of terrain tiles) I identified a lot of areas for improvement and decided to present a new and improved design. Features include:
- A choice of different bin layouts supporting a wider range of tile types.
- A sliding lid (with build in lock) to keep things in place while traveling.
- Fewer sharp edges
The lid only fits one way, slid towards the end with the bin for OpenLock clips. When put on correctly it should snap on or off, or you can squeeze the sides of the bin just below the locking nubs to make things a little easier. I'm currently in the middle of printing a bunch of new tiles, so I suspect there may end up being a few more new organizer configurations yet to come. But if you don't want to wait I've also thrown in an updated STEP file you can use to produce your own.
Everything's designed and tested to be printed in PLA or PLA+ with no supports. Tolerances are a little tight here so for best results I recommend printing with a .4 or .6mm nozzle. Anything bigger can work, but unless you've got a lot of confidence in your printer's tuning there's definitely a risk it'll result in the walls getting thick enough to prevent tiles sliding in and out of their slots or the lid locking up. So if you do want to go that route or try a different material that might have some more shrinkage to contend with, be prepared to adjust scaling appropriately.
