Make a clean, flush mounting point for deck lines on a sea kayak. Drill two 1/2" holes 3/4" apart in your deck, seal the edges of the holes with epoxy, spread some g-flex epoxy around the tubes and flared section of the fitting, push it through the holes. For extra strength, you can glass over the fitting, but it really isn't necessary. Sand them flush on the outside.
